The impact we have on the participants is significant, from simply supporting them to have some real fun, feeling empowered, and building a supportive community, to guiding them with capacity building and social and life skills. The work culture is vibrant, featuring team-building activities and fun workout challenges. The people within the organisation have big hearts and generous spirits.
Extended Families is a staunch work force of client-centred, passionate, trauma-informed, social justice advocates keen to work with participants to get best outcomes guided by their NDIS goals. The wealth of knowledge and approachability of the supervisory team is a specific stand out and the consistent flexibility for work life balance is one of my favourite things about working here
I was drawn to Extended Families based on the values of the organisation and the nature of the work, being person-centered and goal oriented. I have always been deeply passionate about social justice and human rights, values which I am constantly provided with opportunities to represent in my current roles as a Support Worker and Services Facilitator where I managed a caseload of participants.
